The Two-Party Political System in the USA was Founded by Plutocrats

HISTORY MATTERS---

The first political Parties in the USA were the Federalists and the Democratic-Republicans (AKA, the Anti-Federalists).  They were formed by the first political "bosses" about twenty years after the founding of our country.  Alexander Hamilton was the Head of the Federalists, and they were in favor of a strong central government.  When the USA was forming in the mid-1770's, Hamilton favored a monarchy for our type of government; he believed we should have a King.  Thomas Jefferson was the Head of the Democratic-Republicans, and they favored strong States' Rights.

These first American political Parties were formed by the members of the social elite, the rich plutocrats of that time.  Almost all of them "owned" hundreds of slaves, and believed only the aristocracy should rule a country.  Twenty years prior to the formal organization of the two Parties, these same men formed our government.  They did not favor a democracy, and often described same as "two wolves and a sheep deciding what's for dinner".

They finally settled on a Constitutional Republic in which "all men are created equal", except of course, for slaves.  Women couldn't vote, and members of the Senate were not elected; instead, they were appointed to office.

Time passed, and things changed.  Now we're the "land of the free and the home of the brave".  I agree we're brave.  One has to be when putting up with politicians who favor mega banks, perpetual war, fossil fuels, policing the world, the American Empire, the rich & powerful, and Edward Bernays style propaganda.  But, are you "free" - from debt, from job insecurity, from the rat-race, from pollution (e.g., the "forever chemicals" and the nano-plastics in your body), from a fractured and atomized society, from the super high cost of living, from a government too large to be managed properly, from "food deserts" scattered all across the country, from weather extremes which could have been mitigated on the macro-scale, from inflation (the hidden tax)?  If not, then place much of the blame on a broken TWO-PARTY system which is largely run by Oligarchs and/or their influence.

Don't jump to conclusions.  No one loves this country more than I do.  It's a false myth which says if you love your country, then you must support the scoundrels who are running it.  Plutocrats promote that baloney.  The aristocracy wants you to believe such nonsense.  As Warren Buffett once stated fairly recently:  "There's a Class War going on in this country, and my side is winning.".  So true, Mr. Buffett.

It doesn't have to be that way.  Stop drinking the propaganda kool-aid coming from Repubs AND Dems.  Overwhelmingly, they are on the same Team (except for a few social hot-button issues), and it's not yours.  They are on Team Oligarchy.

So, what's to be done?

1.  If you're a Democrat, don't ever vote for one of your "centrist/moderate" candidates (unless he/she is running against someone like Trump).  They are NOT centrists; they are corporatists.  They are part of the Big Business Establishment.  Instead, support Progressives.  They have their flaws, but they're the closest thing to being democratic (with a small letter "d") in the Corporatist Dem Party.  The Dem Party of the past is long-gone, replaced by neoliberalism.

After Sanders was completely shafted by the DNC, it's amazing to me that any Progressives remained in the so-called Dem Party.  They all should have dumped it.  I'm guessing they believe they'll change it from the inside.  That's highly unlikely.  It's a rigged game, rigged by billions of dollars.

2.  If you're a Republican, be aware that the Repub Party also is long-gone; it has been co-opted first by Neoconservatives, and then by Neoliberals.  They support Big Biz over Small Biz.  They egregiously promulgate Corporate Globalization and monopolies.  The only thing they want to conserve is Rule by Plutocrats.  They favor industrial farming over smaller family farms.  They abhor competition in the marketplace.  They don't give a damn about your religion, your ethics, or your belief in conservatism.  In short, you've been bamboozled.

Your best hope is to dump the so-called Repub Party, and become an Independent or perhaps a Libertarian (although, you probably won't care for the liberal side of libertarianism).  You're fairly well shafted, partly because most likely you don't know much at all about Russell Kirk, the Founder of Modern Day Conservatism.  Without knowing it, you allowed genuine conservatism to be replaced by neoliberalism.

Lessons From the Tragic/Comic Ryan-Trump Reality Show

Lessons The Don should have learned---
1.  He's not the big, bad, tough deal maker he thinks he is.
2.  Talking about riding a bronc and doing it are two different things.
3.  Like everyone else, sometimes he's a failure at executing a task.
4.  Many people don't respond well to bullying and/or ultimatums.
5.  Politics can be complicated.
6.  He's not the Boss of the Congress.
7.  It takes time to craft a decent piece of legislation.
8.  Running the Executive Branch is not the same as running a corporation.
9.  He has no popular mandate.
10.  He doesn't know as much as he says he does.

Lessons We the People (especially Trump supporters) should have learned---
1.  All ten points above, plus...
2.  The Don is in over his head.
3.  For the most part, he's full of hot air.
4.  He's not an effective politician, not even an effective rebel politician.
5.  His style & manner do not command respect.
6.  He displays either ignorance or naivete regarding crucial subjects/topics.
7.  When he says things such as, "Nobody knew that healthcare is so complicated...", that suggests he's not fit to be President.
8.  He makes promises he can't keep...and he knows that.
9.  He'll be a disaster on the international stage.
10.  He's not a genuine Populist.

With The Don & his Crew in office, we're all in deep trouble...nearly everyone in the entire world.  In fact, the most recent election cycle has demonstrated that the so-called Two-Party System in USA politics (which is NOT mandated in the U.S. Constitution or anywhere else) is working against common people and fostering Elitism.  In other words, this problem is way beyond just Trump.  Until that System is peacefully changed, our country will continue to experience SSDD... in politics, economics, finance, and almost all social matters.

Reject Two-Party Politics in the USA

If ever there was a year to do it, this is the year.  Consider the following points.

1.  In Modern times, both the Repubs and the Dems each have individually held the majority power more than once.  Campaign rhetoric came to nothing in almost all such cases.  BOTH Parties have led us to where we are today.

2.  Except for a few Hot-Button social issues, the two major Parties pretty much agree on significant issues.  For example, they both believe in institutionalized deficit spending.  Repubs sometimes claim otherwise, but they've never stopped it.  Our National Debt grows every single year...and the principle on the foreign portion of that debt never will be repaid.  Another example--- they both believe in an aggressive foreign policy...and using (not just carrying) a Big Stick.  Another example--- they both believe in economically favoring Wall Street Banks over Main Street citizens.  Anyone who doesn't see that is not paying attention.  Another example--- they both believe in Crony Capitalism.  Big Money in politics has resulted in Mega Corporate Welfare that far outstrips welfare for common people.  There are many more examples, but because of time constraints, I need to keep this relatively short.

3.  Both major Parties almost always distract voters from crucial issues and get them to squabble over issues that may be somewhat important, but are not so crucial that they'll result in the downfall of the country if not addressed in a particular manner.  For example--- gun control.  Whether or not Joe or Jane Doaks can pack a pistol while going into Starbucks is not crucial to the survival of this country.  On the other hand, the elimination of Crony Capitalism is crucial to the survival of this country.  Another example--- Whether or not Joe and Dan...or Nancy and Jane...can legally marry is not crucial to the survival of this country.  On the other hand, the elimination of the aggressive, belligerent use of the military (while violating the Constitution) is crucial to the survival of this country.  It's way past time that our Fed Gov't stops acting as though it is the World Police.  We have no such authority.  According to a worldwide Gallup Poll, 80% of the people in the world believe that the greatest threat to global peace is the Fed Gov't of the USA.  [The Corporate Media here managed to suppress that bit of info.]

4.  There is no provision in the Constitution that restricts us to only two political Parties.  The Repubs and Dems have become dominant primarily by rigging the System.  For example, harsh ballot-access laws are written by...guess who?...Repubs & Dems.  It's almost impossible for a Third Party to get on the ballot in all fifty States in a national election.  Another example--- the Propaganda against Third Party candidates is both rampant and gross.

On a related but different note... if we want to be a truly democratic society, it would be wise to legally alter our "winner-takes-all" electoral system.  Many, many developed countries have a system (or something similar) in which a Party winning a percentage of the vote gets that amount of representation in the Gov't.  [Even a coalition government is not a political sin, nor is it a bad idea... despite Propaganda to the contrary.]  The way it is now, we really have only one major Party--- the Republicrats, or some say, the Demopublicans... and that's the only Party in elected office.  It's a genuine political monopoly.

People say Third Parties don't have a chance in hell.  That's the Propaganda.  As long as voters believe that, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.  If they no longer accept it as inevitable, then the door is wide open... all things become possible.  So, who promotes the no-chance-in-hell idea?... the Republicrats (Demopublicans), of course!  They, especially those at the highest levels, want to keep their monopoly.

Corrupt

I didn't support his political candidacy, and I don't agree with most of his political stances.  Nevertheless---

From Ben Carson:  "Our political system is corrupt...both Democrats and Republicans...corrupt to the core.".  You may call his statement sour grapes if you wish, but the man is correct.

Don't play a Rigged Game.  Either boycott national elections, or vote for a worthy Third Party candidate.  That message to the Establishment would be heard...if enough people chose one of those options.  Stop being a "True Believer" in the dictatorial, Two-Party Monopoly.  That Monopoly has brought us to where we are today.  Shun it.  That's one method of bringing about a peaceful, political revolution.

For you Sanders supporters, sorry, but he won't get the nomination.  After the massive McGovern defeat, the Democrat Hierarchy set up policies & procedures to ensure that would never happen again... "that" being a Populist getting the nomination.  For you Trump supporters, Romney is correct--- Trump is a phony.  [So is Romney, but that's another story.]  The Donald is not a Populist.  Even if he gets the nomination, he'll easily be defeated (barring unforeseen circumstances) by Clinton.  He's a Corporatist (like her), but his idiocy will be rejected by the vast majority of voters.

The Tragic Comedy

The two-party monopoly in American politics is elitist, nonrepresentative, and mostly a tragic comedy.

I think it's all a big show...meant to distract us from the discovery that:
1) our borders slowly are being eliminated;
2) our national sovereignty slowly is being eliminated;
3) our money is virtually worthless (which will enhance the transition to the NAU "Amero");
4) multi-national corporate Globalism rules, not American interests...especially in economic and energy matters;
5) the purpose of a national ID is to keep track of us, not terrorists;
6) some unalienable individual freedoms must be sacrificed for the good of the State is nothing but propaganda promoted by central planners;
7) foreign policy is designed to secure foreign natural resources and Corporatocracy business interests;
8) both political parties believe that the Corporatocracy is essential to our survival;
9) Government is no longer the servant; and,
10) the two-party monopoly has, for all intents and purposes, trashed our Constitutional Republic.

The Democrats are as big a tragic comedy as is King George. Except for a few minor corrections in the country's flawed path, the Dems spend most of their time making excuses, squabbling amongst themselves, and doing virtually nothing (or worse, providing support) in regard to the Globalist Corporatocracy takeover of our economy. Their impotence is unbelievable...and damning...and suspicious.

As for the Republicans, well, obviously they have been hijacked by those who believe in the philosophy of Irving Kristol (who formerly was a Trotskyite), the American Empire NeoCons. But even prior to that, Republicans have contributed to all of the points listed above.

The Republi-crats are the elitist Government Club. They all talk a good talk...and every so often produce a flurry of seemingly beneficial activity. Meanwhile, the march toward 1984 continues unabated...and supported by the two-party monopoly.

So, We the People are pretty much shafted...unless...
we boycott the Establishment two-party monopoly on a massive scale, thus crumbling the repressive ballot-access laws, political elitism, and Corporate Media political propaganda. Only then will folks with integrity and honor have a chance of being elected and making a difference. Our only chance is to return to citizen (not professional) politicians. [Our Founders never imagined that anyone would want to make a career out of the snakepit in DC. They figured people would serve a term or three and then go back to their real jobs.]

I don't see it happening anytime soon. Too many people still believe that the rotten political system can be changed by remaining within the bounds of that system (the two-party monopoly). I look back over the last half century and ask myself, "How can they still believe that?".
